A photography and history workshop that centers on the Camas Prairie Railroad Trestles. This workshop will appeal to photographers and history buffs. It will feature 10 up close and personal trestle locations, 2 sunset shoots, 1 sunrise shoot, basic photography instruction, editing tips, and local railroad history. If you are a beginner photographer, professional photographer, or just interested in railroad history and train trestles, this workshop will be suited for you. More details below.

We will be walking up to ½ mile on level surfaces to two shooting locations. Snacks will be provided several times throughout the day on Saturday. Breakfast food and coffee are available for purchase at The Habit Coffee Shop, which is the photography class setting. Lunch and dinner arrangements will be made for Saturday, more information to follow.   Bring hearty snacks for Friday evening, as dinner is not part of the schedule. 

What to Bring: camera, tripod, notebook, pen, water, snacks, walking shoes, headlamp or flashlight.

Friday September 13th

4:30-6:00 pm-Meet at the Habit Coffee Shop in Cottonwood Idaho

  • Introductions

  • Photography Composition, Basic Elements (Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO)

  • History of Camas Prairie Railroad

6:00-8:00 pm- Sunset Shoot

Saturday September 14th

5:30-8:00 am- Sunrise Shoot

8:00-10:00- The Habit Coffee Shop

  • Coffee and Breakfast

  • Continued Photography Instruction

10:00-12:00- Trestle Exploration

12:00-1:30-Lunch

1:30-3:30- Trestle Exploration
